Fossil Shark Vertebrae and Fish Jaw

$30.00

This fossil shark vertebrae and fish jaw, possibly from a Barracuda, is from Morocco. Sharks have been around for hundreds of millions of years, appearing in the fossil record before trees even existed. The earliest fossil evidence for sharks or their ancestors are a few scales dating to 450 million years ago, during the Late Ordovician Period. The teeth and vertebrae are some of the few remains of sharks that preserve in the fossil record.
